Experienced Palo Alto Legal Professional Komey Vishakan

Komey Vishakan began her legal career as a criminal prosecutor with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in Sydney, Australia. She later served in a similar position with the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, where she advised federal government agencies including the Australian Federal Police, the Australian Taxation Office, and the National Crime Authority. Komey Vishakan spent more than six years conducting trials as a Crown Advocate for the Crown Prosecution Service in the United Kingdom. Upon returning back to Australia, she took on the role of the National Litigation Manager for the Australian Crime Commission.

Komey Vishakan spent six years with the Palo Alto Unified School District in California, initially as a Manager of Policy and Legal Compliance and then as the District's first-ever General Counsel. She helped the district successfully navigate a federal investigation and reduce external legal expenses by about $1 million within a short period.

Currently, as Senior Counsel for Lozano Smith, LLP, Komey Vishakan focuses on advising various school districts on student and personnel matters.

Ms. Vishakan holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Economics and Commercial Law from the University of Sydney and a law degree from the University of Western Sydney’s Nepean College. Her professional affiliations include serving as the Vice President of the South Asian Bar Association of Northern California and as a board member of the California Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
